This is then covered with 22 carat gold to produce a beautifully textured finish. Wedgwood china has graced the homes and palaces of the world's most discerning customers for more than 250 years. With the highest quality controls in the industry and an emphasis on leading edge design, Wedgwood & Bentley fine bone china tableware makes a statement of the company's commitment to fine dining, inspired living and timeless luxury.

History of Wedgwood English porcelain dinnerware . A story that begins with Josiah Wedgwood, born in 1730, into a family of artisans. When his father died in 1739, Josiah began working in the family factory and after five years of apprenticeship, decided to partner with a potter named Thomas Whieldon. In 1754, Josiah began patenting his own porcelain, glass, and clay formulas. His business began to take off when in 1765, he made a whole tableware for Queen Charlotte (Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of King George III and Queen of England from 1761-1818).
